What is Mortons Neuroma?
Neuroma is a non malignant, cancer-free tissue that grows abnormally in different parts of the human body. Mortons Neuroma affects the foot area, usually around the toes. The tissue surrounding the toe nerves becomes thick as the Mortons Neuroma condition progresses. Symptoms can be quite painful with dagger-like prickling, numbness, or burning discomfort around the toes and/or ball of the foot.
Mortons Neuroma cause and symptoms can be associated with injury to the foot, or the pressure of ill fitting shoes that squeeze the toes. The condition can sometimes occur without explanation, but this may be due to the delay that can occur before it has progressed long enough to become noticeably painful.
