Healthy Milk From The South

The south of New York, that is!  Catskills, a beautifully rich in nature place in America, is the home of a remarkable Dairy Distributorship called MountainSide Farms.

Without trying to sound too much like a commercial, I just wanted to give a plug out in my blog about this Milk Business.  Reason being, today I was having a conversation with my 5 year old nephew about the REALLY REALLY cold jug of 2 percent milk that I was pouring on his afternoon snack cereal and I was kind of telling him a little white lie.  I primarily use powdered milk in my house, and I was giving him a harebrained story about how I love my powdered milk because it doesn’t freeze my hands when I am pouring it from the mixing jar.

milkstache is on upper lip after drinking pure milkmilkstache is on upper lip after drinking pure milkmilkstache is on upper lip after drinking pure milk After he finished his snack, he wiped a bit of milk from his upper lip as he explained to me that he had spilled milk on his mouth. No Biggy!  I googled for milkstache images so I could show him some photos of milkstaches.  Nephew quickly grew bored of my company and scampered away to play elsewhere.  Meanwhile, I took a read through the Mountain Side Farms Website and I found its ingredients very appealing. As expected, they did have the milkstache going on there too!

…….
Mountainside Farms uses advanced filtration and clarification technology in addition to pasteurization to improve the purity of our milk.

Combining environmentally friendly business practices with innovative technology used in the processing stage, Mountainside Farms produces purer, better-tasting milk that is free of added hormones and antibiotics, with improved shelf life.
………..

As a typical consumer, I’m not all up to date with the hormone issues in mass produced food products.  I only learned the thing about cow noses and human noses being big because of steroids and hormones just a few years ago.  I mean, I didn’t know all this tampering was going on.  I just thought organic was some gimmick for hippies or show offs.  I don’t feel that way now.  I’m totally understanding that organic basically just means NATURAL.  What a blipping’ surprise!

I felt really proud of Mountain Side Farm’s Business Model, in the discovery of their thoughtfulness and stance on purity in providing Ultra Pure Hormone Free Healthy Dairy Milk.

For the last decade I’ve been hearing that Milk Does The Body Good.  I think milk is good for most of us, but really, those of us that really enjoy milk and milk products are either over consuming it or allergic to it and have to limit its intake.  No happy median there, I’m guessing.  Seriously, many of us can sit down and gobble down 1/4 -1/2 pound of cheese in nothing flat.  We KNOW this is not good for our arteries or our hips.  But it is easy to do, admit it!

We need that healthy calcium from our milk to help promote strength in our bones.  How many of you know what lactose intolerance is?  When did you first discover lactose intolerance was even a condition.  I’m sure this has been around for years and years, mostly as an unknown ailment.  Science keeps throwing us curveballs.

Since calcium is very important and I realize many of us do not get enough because of our fear of too much fat injestion, Calcium, Magnesium, Vitamin D, 100 caps: W is an alternative that we can all live with, at at less than ten bucks, what a bonus.  I hope this is handy for you

There’s a little request slip you can print out on Mountain Side’s website to make a request to your grocer for this product.  I’m not sure what states they cover, but I am checking more into that, If you are in the PA, NY, NJ, CT areas, you may be in luck!  I would buy their product if it was available at my local market.  I hope I don’t sound so naive or gullible by making this announcement that I’m turning over a new cow, err leaf.

At any rate, here’s a list of nutrition information from the US Nutrition website, this entails the recommended daily serving amount. Listed below are the stats from the above mentioned dairy as well as what their product supplies.  Sounds pretty awesome to me.
